Responsibilities (or what you’ll be doing):

  • Take ownership of backend tasks for a growing SaaS product, including designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the architecture.
  • Collaborate with product managers to define upcoming product iterations, addressing technical challenges and bridging gaps between product features and market fit.
  • Build APIs and background services using Ruby and Python that:
  • Integrate with external platforms
  • Scrape and analyze content from the web
  • Integrate with internal machine learning services
  • Ensure the system remains operational with minimal errors.



Qualifications (or what we’re looking for):

  • 4+ years of industry experience in a production web environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with Ruby, Python, or Node in a Linux environment.
  • Demonstrated experience owning scalable, modern web architectures throughout the full development lifecycle: design, development, testing, and monitoring.
  • BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
  • A strong passion for solving problems and delivering value.
  • Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud services.
  • Experience working in a continuous integration environment; container orchestration (Docker, K8s) - advantage.
  • The ability to write clean code, with a commitment to continuous refactoring and improvement.
  • Capacity to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Frontend skills - advantage
